Choose a hosting model before a jurisdiction label
Use a VPS for virtual resources or a dedicated server for exclusive hardware. A jurisdictional preference does not determine how much RAM, storage, bandwidth, or management your application needs. Define those requirements independently.
Read the actual service and acceptable-use policies
Terms such as privacy-focused or DMCA-free describe a service position, not unlimited permission for any activity. Review the current terms, acceptable-use requirements, and complaint process. Ask for clarification when your use case depends on a specific contractual commitment.
Protect data at the application layer
Server location is only one part of a privacy design. Access control, encryption, key custody, retention, and backups depend on the application and how it is operated. Record which tasks are yours and which are covered by the service.
